Whispering Yak

I’m Kris, a North Carolina-based photographer with a love for wandering the quiet edges of the world. My work is rooted in landscapes and wildlife, guided by a deep curiosity for the places that shape us. Whether I’m standing on a windswept Carolina shoreline or watching the first light spill across a national park trail, I aim to capture moments that feel still, sincere, and connected to something larger than ourselves.

Although I dream of exploring every corner of the map, I’ve learned that inspiration often starts close to home. North Carolina’s forests, lakes, and coastlines continue to teach me how to slow down and see deeply. From there, my lens travels outward to national parks and wild spaces across the country, each one adding a new note to the story I’m telling through Whispering Yak. My hope is that my photography invites you to pause, breathe, and rediscover your own place in the natural world.
